LeadingAge California to bring Lighthouse digital literacy program to older adults

Lighthouse for Older Adults, a project launched in 2020 by CITRIS Health in collaboration with Eskaton and Front Porch, has announced a partnership with LeadingAge California, the state’s leading advocate for quality nonprofit senior living and care, to connect older people living in affordable housing with telehealth resources and digital literacy training.

As Lighthouse’s premiere partner, LeadingAge California will shepherd older adult communities across
the state through their implementation of the newly launched Lighthouse Playbook, a step-by-step guide
produced by the program to help bridge the digital generation gap.

During its pilot, in the height of the COVID pandemic, Lighthouse for Older Adults was adopted in over 14 languages in affordable housing communities across California. The pilot saw more than 75 percent of residents reporting usage of new technologies, such as tablets, at least twice per week. The success of this pilot and its commitment to equitable access shows considerable promise for increasing access to vital resources for the diverse communities within California.
